"CACAO HAS COME OUT OF THE JUNGLE TO HARMONIZE AND BALANCE THE RELATIONSHIP THAT MAN HAS LOST WITH MOTHER NATURE"
IZAIAS MENDOZA

When the earth speaks and the heart remembers
Between volcanoes and mist, on the shores of Lake Atitlán, a cocoa unfolds - born for rituals and sacred circles.
It remembers what was, what is, and what wants to awaken in you.
It carries the whispers of the ancestors, the song of the fire, and the wisdom of ceremonial traditions. LavaLove is not ordinary cacao - it is a calling.
A call to depth, to truth, to what sleeps beneath the surface.
With every cup, a space opens for connection, for prayer, for that moment when everything falls silent and you know: This is for you.

Izabel and Izaias
LavaLove follows the call of the ancestors to keep the ancient wisdom of cacao alive and to share it with the world as heart medicine.
As a bridge between worlds, this cacao connects people with themselves, with the earth, and with the sacred traditions of the Maya - in love, mindfulness, and respect.
Thanks to cacao, Izaias and Izabel are lovers, parents and healers walking the path that is meant for them.

The guardians of Lavalove Cacao
Izaias & Izabel – A path rooted in the depths of Maya Tradition
LavaLove Cacao is inseparable linked to the life and work of Izaias and Izabel, a Maya-Kaqchikel couple from San Marcos La Laguna on lake Atitlán. Their work is deeply rooted in the cosmology of their ancestors, shaped by personal experience, devotion, and the desire to keep sacred knowledge alive.
Izaias was born into an indigenous family and was guided early on by dreams and inner visions. As a teenager, he recognized that his path lay in spiritual work, guiding people through ceremonies, prayer, and connection to the Earth. After many years of seeking, he was accepted into the circle of elders and initiated as a fire shaman. Since then, he has led traditional cacao and fire ceremonies as well as readings in the sacred Maya calendar.
Izabel grew up on the Pacific coast of Guatemala. As a child, she helped support her family through hard work after her father passed away, taking on responsibility early. Later, she met Izaias and in through their bond, her own healing path began. In cacao ceremonies, she found deeper connection with her inner strength. One year after Izaias' initiation, Izabel, too, was called under the guidance of their teacher Nana Candelaria Xitamul. Today, she supports women with Temazcal baths, traditional abdominal massage, and plant medicine. Her work is deeply nurturing, grounding, and strengthening.
LavaLove Cacao is their shared creation.
Every bean bears their signature. Each block is created under their care, with prayer, respect, and a deep understanding of the spirit of cacao.
This cacao is not just nourishment. It is a bridge to remembrance. A medicine for the heart.
LavaLove Cacao from Guatemala
The beans come from small family farms on Guatemala's Pacific coast. There, ancient Criollo trees grow in ecological mixed cultures, nourished by rain, sun, and the living earth – without chemical additives, embedded in tropical biodiversity.
After harvest, the beans are fermented, sun-dried, and gently roasted over fire. Each bean is hand-peeled, blessed with prayer, and milled in small batches into a fine, potent cacao mass.
This creates a pure, hand-poured block of ceremonial cacao mass – deeply rooted in its origin, soft in character, and infused with the essence of ritual.
LavaLove Cacao is heart medicine.
It guides you into your depth and at the same time strengthens those who make it with devotion. Through direct collaboration, fair payment, and the lived transmission of spiritual knowledge, each block helps preserve the living heritage of the Maya.

A personal thank you
My deepest gratitude goes to Izaias and Izabel, who are not only the guardians of Lavaove Cacao but also my teachers on my own path.
Over several years, I had the privilege of participating in the Cacao Maya Vision Training – an intense, transformative journey full of depth, lived wisdom, and spiritual practice. During this time, I received an initiation that led my life to a deeper level. I experienced the profound depth this plant holds and how I can share its power in connection.
This initiation was not a single moment but a path of remembering, letting go, and inner ripening. I was able to experience cacao in its sacred dimension as a living force, as heart medicine, as a bridge between worlds.
LavaLove is the cacao with which I was initiated.
To me, it is not just cacao.
It is part of my path, a part of me.
With deep gratitude, I carry this wisdom forward. What I can share today about ceremonial cacao, Mayan cosmology, and spiritual integrity has grown in me through the guidance of Izaias and Izabel.
Thank you for your trust.
Thank you for your dedication.
Thank you for making this path possible.
